Sundance for the Troops: GI Film Festival


The award-winning GI Film Festival (GIFF) returns to Alexandria May 19-25 with a full week of red carpets, celebrity appearances, movie screenings, and exclusive after-parties! A total of 56 films were chosen and will be screened over the week-long festival covering every aspect of military triumph and struggle, from the Civil War to the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The diverse line-up features multiple film genres, including animation, documentaries, dramatic features, comedies, action packed web programs, music videos, and more.

The GIFF preserves the stories of veterans through film, television, training, and special events. GIFF events provide an exceptionally diverse line-up of programming, covering all branches of service, every major conflict, and every major film genre while addressing a variety of issues of concern to the veteran community.

People in attendance will include David Arquette, Adam Driver, Gary Sinise, Michelle Monaghan, cast of Fox’s Enlisted, the late James Gandolfini’s family, members of Congress and the military, and more!
