DC Beer Week in Full Swing
Checkout some of these great events happening around town featuring your favorite ales, lagers, and pilsners:
DBW Michigan Style
Get your Michigan beer on at Kangaroo Boxing Club in Columbia Heights. They will be featuring Michigan beers all week, and on the 13th Founders will be the main attraction! Founders will be breaking something out of their vintage stash and will also pouring some of their well known staples.
Glen’s will be braising brats in a different draft beer each day, add a matching $4 pint for pairing perfection. On August 12 only, you can also taste your way through Glen’s offerings of all-local taps with four sample pours for $6.50 (5pm-10pm). August 15, enjoy their famous half-smoke dogs for $2 a piece, until 10 p.m.

Bourbon will be featuring a different beer each night of the week. From 5 p.m.-close enjoy a specialty craft beer for only $4.
21st Amendment CAN-tina Take Over
Cantina Marina is featuring seven 21st Amendment flavors on August 12th. On hand will be at least 2 brews of the very limited Insurrection Series. Starting at 5pm you can meet a brewery rep, grab some swag, and enjoy the amazing water views. Cantina Marina will also be offering specials throughout the week including $21 buckets of 21st Amendment and specials on 21st Amendment cans ($5 & $7.25 for Hop Crisis and Marooned on Hog Island Oyster Stout).
Progressive Beer Dinner on H Street w/ Sam Adams & Sierra Nevada
Kick off DC Beer Week with two of the “Founding Fathers” of the Craft Brewing Movement on a beer & food-pairing journey down H St. NE led by Steve Grossman, one of the founders of Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Meet at 6 p.m. on the roof of Rock & Roll Hotel to enjoy cans of Pale Ale, Torpedo IPA, & Boston Lager. Stop #2 is H Street Country Club, featuring Hoptimum Imperial IPA and Tetravis Quad paired with 3 small bites and a round of gulf. Cusbah’s patio is the third stop, with West Coast Imperial Red IPA and New World Tripel paired with 3 small bites. Stop #4: Upstairs at Big Board for Kellerweis Hefeweizen and 13th Hour Stout paired with 3 small bites. End the night at Smith Commons with Belgian Black IPA and Stony Brook Red paired with 3 small bites. Tickets can be purchased at www.samadamssierranevada.

Starting at 4 p.m. on August 13, enjoy $5 Schlafly Raspberry Hefeweizen draft, Sea Dog Blueberry Wheat Ale cans, Lancaster Strawberry Hefeweizen bottles, and Wells Banana Bread Beer bottles. Featuring the limited edition Timmermans Oude Gueuze in bottles and more Belgian sours to come!
On August 14, happy hour (4-7 p.m.) will include $2 off all craft drafts and $1 off all craft bottles, come try them all!
DC Beer Week is in full swing at Penn Social! August 13, enjoy a beautiful array of excellent craft breweries direct from the Blue Ridge Mountain Trail: Lost Rhino. Highland Brewing. Devils Backbone. Starr Hill. They will all be in attendance. Enter the cornhole/beer pong bucket tournament here! 6-9pm

RFD’s Coast to Coast Tap Takeover
RFD in Chinatown is throwing an epic DC Beer Week tap takeover on Wednesday night, featuring more than 20 American craft breweries from across five of our country’s beer regions, including Ommegang, Abita, Sam Adams, Flying Dog, Lagunitas, Great Lakes, Victory, Goose Island, Boulevard, Sierra Nevada and Firestone, just to name a few. Plus, the backroom will feature some of your favorite locals, as well. Reps from the various breweries will be on hand to chat about your favorite brews and answer any questions you might have. All beers from their 45 draft lines will be $5 all night, plus a $5 cover charge with proceeds going to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
August 14, from 7-10pm, The Argonaut is pairing Flying Dog with delicious tacos- $25 all you can eat and drink
Yuengling Steal the Pint Night
Celebrate DCBW 2013 with America’s Oldest Brewery and The Laughing Man Tavern on August 15 with a Steal the Pint Night featuring Yuengling Lager, and Yuengling’s new Fall Seasonal – Yuengling Oktoberfest. All Yuengling Lager, Yuengling Oktoberfest Drafts and Light Lager bottles are $3 until 10pm. Stop in to say hi to the Yuengling Team, who will be on hand sampling out all 3 brews, and get a chance to win “The Yuengling Little Guy” Tailgating Trailer!
It’s $2 Dog Night at the Bier Baron Tavern. $2 hot dogs and $2 drafts of a Flying Dog draft.
It’s always fun when Lost Rhino is involved. Think great beers, good people, and a Rhino suit. Come for a party! This Friday, at Meridian Pint, all Lost Rhino drafts, including their Brett IPA, “The Birth Of Ace”, and house beer, Meridian Kolsch, will be $5 all night (starting at 5pm). The Rhino will be present for part of the festivities, but if you find him earlier in the week and are the first to tweet a picture of him with the hashtag #IFoundTheRhino you’ll win free Lost Rhino drafts for the evening!

NoMa Beer Fest
DC’s favorite beer-makers converge for NoMa Beer Fest, a free outdoor festival on Saturday, August 17th. Sample special summer brews, and enjoy live music, DJ entertainment, games by DC Bocce for the whole family, and tasty eats from Union Kitchen and local food trucks. All-local breweries include DC Brau, Chocolate City Brewing Company, District Chophouse, Capital City Brewing Company, Three Stars Brewing Co., The Brewer’s Art and Right Proper Brewery (opening soon in Shaw).
