Sofitel DC Springs into Culinary Delights

Sofitel Washington D.C. Lafayette Square is pleased to honor the 100th anniversary of the Cherry Blossom Festival and the start of the spring season with a number of exciting additions to its culinary repertoire. In addition to the opening of Le Patio the week of April 12, the property will launch three weeks of special cherry inspired menus in their chic restaurant iCi Urban Bistro.

As one of the city’s most popular events, the annual Cherry Blossom Festival was the inspiration for this year’s Cherry Picks 2012. Sofitel D.C.’s Executive Chef, Franck Loquet, has designed three different menus starting the week of March 26th continuing through April 15th celebrating the sweet fragrance of spring and cherries. Notable entrées include: Pickled Cherry Glazed Branzino; Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Cherry Jus; and Grilled Scallops Pistachio with dry Cherry Gremolata. Desserts are also well known at the iCi Urban Bistro and Pastry Chef Bitauld compliments entrées with traditional themed desserts of Cherry Clafoutis and Cherry Feuilleté.

Le Patio, the property’s vibrant al fresco space, will also host a Cherry Blossom Cocktail Soiree on April 12, celebrating the return of this favorite DC hotspot with entertainment and libations. Guests will enjoy cherry infused appetizers and specialty cocktails concocted by house mixologist Vincent Gernignon, such as Cherry Mojitos and Cherry Blossom Martinis.
