Phillips After 5 to Help Support Disaster Relief in Japan

phillips dcThe Phillips Collection harnesses the popularity of its Phillips after 5 program to support disaster relief efforts in Japan.

At 7:30 pm guests gather in a give-by-text rally to benefit the American Red Cross. A special installation of Japanese painter Kenzo Okada’s poetic Footsteps (1954) provides a space for personal reflection and remembrance, and gallery talks at 6 and 7 pm explore the influence of Japanese art and Japonisme on the work of Pierre Bonnard. Japanese-inspired food and drink help set the mood.

The Phillips will donate 50% of bar and membership proceeds, as well as designated visitor donations, to the American Red Cross.

WHEN: Thurs., April 7, 5–8:30 p.m.

TICKETS: Included in admission to special exhibition; free for Phillips members. Due to the event’s popularity, advance reservations during special exhibitions are encouraged to ensure admission.
