Corcoran is the New Home of Fotoweek 2010

beachThe Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design will be the new home of Fotoweek Central during the annual FotoWeek DC 2010 Festival this fall, November 6-13.

The kick-off party for the Fotoweek DC partnership will be held Thursday, July 22 from 7-10 p.m. at the Corcoran and will feature photo projections and photo booth sessions, music by DJ Chris Nitti and Matthew Hemerlein, and complimentary admission to the Corcoran’s newest temporary exhibition, Chuck Close Prints: Process and Collaboration.

The Festival will kick off with an awards ceremony and after-party on Friday, November 5 at the Corcoran, where award-winning photography will be on view in an exhibition during the week. As in the past, the Festival will feature countless activities during the week, including portfolio reviews, lectures, workshops, exhibitions of international photography and photo books, the popular all-night Night Visions instant show and photo projections on building exteriors.
