Chinatown’s Makeover

chinatownIf you’ve been to DC’s Chinatown, then you you’ve seen the iconic arch over H Street near the Verizon Center.

Well, you’ve also noticed it’s in need of a major restoration.

D.C.-based AEPA Arthitects (who originally constructed the arch) will complete restoration work including scraping off existing paint and repainting the columns, decorative beams and lintels, as well as repairing and restoring the worn-out decorations, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The total cost will be around $300k.
