4onthefloor at Jammin Java with Derek Every
The roadhouse rock and Delta blues infused 4onthefloor will play Jammin Java with local openers Derek Evry and Norman Rockwell on Tuesday, May 8th. Doors open at 8pm; tickets are $5 and available on the venue’s website.
The 4onthefloor, a Minneapolis quartet known equally for their hard-hitting live shows as they are for their four bass drum rhythym section, recently released their split 7-inch, “Sheepskin b/w Oracle,” limited to 444 copies pressed on yellow vinyl and available on tour. Listen to a track below.
The 4onthefloor have garnered such praise as “an unholy blend of Patterson Hood and Glenn Danzig” (says The Star Tribune of Gabriel Douglas’ vocals) and “… the kind of music that you stomp to, that you listen to when you’re a couple drinks in to let yourself feel a little bit better” (says Sean Moeller of Daytrotter). More recently, Howler’s Jordan Gatesmith had a few choice words for The 4onthefloor, on the opposite end of the opinion spectrum. The Minnesotans have since made up.
