Clarendon Mardi Gras Parade

For the 15th consecutive year, the Washington area’s largest Mardi Gras celebration, the Clarendon-Courthouse Mardi Gras Parade will take place on Fat Tuesday, February 21, 2012 starting at 8 p.m.

The parade route runs along Wilson Boulevard from North Barton Street to North Irving Street.

The parade will feature more than 40 groups from across the region. This year’s parade features a wide mix, from the exciting beat of Batala Washington, to the Jim Moyer Circus Club to the DC Roller Girls.

With 25 cases of Mardi Gras beads on order, there is a good chance you will catch a throw and have a year’s worth of good luck.

Visitors are encouraged to walk or take Metro to the parade area. You can bet all the area bars will be packed and running Fat Tuesday specials of their own.
